Cold, liquid applied resin technology
Cold, liquid applied resins or liquid plastics have proved themselves as problem solvers in the construction industry for more than 30 years. Liquid applied materials consist of one or more components, which are applied on site as a liquid and which harden as a result of a chemical crosslinking reaction or a physical drying process.
Triflex liquid plastics systems are based upon the most advanced polymer chemistry, and are designed to deliver long term security.
Triflex - Resin technology
The most frequently used liquid resins in the construction industry are based on unsaturated polyester (UP), polyurethane (PU), epoxy (EP) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).
The majority of Triflex resins are based on PMMA technology. One of the primary benefits of Triflex PMMA and UP resins is their exceptional reactivity even at low temperatures:
- The rapid cure times allow areas to be treated quickly, minimizing time on site
- Access restrictions can be minimised as the materials achieve full mechanical properties exceptionally quickly, and all layers of Triflex systems can be trafficked shortly after installation
- With exceptionally short ‘rain proof' times, weather windows can be maximised to ensure the highest levels of productivity
- The applicator can leave site, confident that the areas completed are totally secure
- With the ability to cure at low temperatures, Triflex projects can be carried out all year round and in the majority of climatic conditions, allowing the project to be completed when required, not when dictated by the temperature

Triflex PMMA resins offer further benefits over other resin types, with better alkali and hydrolysis resistance, higher levels of inter layer adhesion, and applicability at humidity levels of up to 95 per cent. Triflex PMMA resins are also UV resistant and able to withstand severe chemical and mechanical loads.
