Approvals and certification |
ETA certification – CE marking
All Triflex waterproofing systems for roofs are tested and certified under ETAG 005 - Liquid Applied Waterproofing Membranes issued by the European Organisation for Technical Approvals (EOTA). Products are deemed fit for their intended use if they comply with the relevant European Technical Approval. A construction product with an ETA, can carry CE marking and can be placed on the market in any EU member state.
Fire resistance
UK standard
All Triflex roofing systems are certified under BS476:Part 3 – External fire exposure roof test and achieve the highest rating – EXT.F.AA.
European standards Triflex ProTect® and Triflex ProDetail® have been successfully tested under the three test methods prescribed under pr ENV 1187 / pr EN 13501-5:
- German Standard – Test method 1
- Nordic Standard – Test method 2
- French Standard – Test method 3
Triflex D has been successfully tested under the German standard – Test method 1 Although not currently a regulatory requirement for products in the UK, the testing confirms our commitment to ensuring that our systems achieve the highest levels of safety. |

Factory Mutual – FM approved
All Triflex roofing systems are Factory Mutual (FM) approved. FM is a US based leader in the certification and approval of roofing products and roof assemblies. Product approval is based on performance testing of completed assemblies when subjected to multiple perils including fire testing, wind-uplift testing, hail-damage testing and accelerated weathering.
Underwriters Laboratories – UL classified
All Triflex roofing systems are Underwriters Laboratories (UL) approved. UL is the trusted global source for product compliance. Roofing product classification includes testing the fire resistance performance of roof coverings exposed to simulated fire sources originating from outside a building on which the coverings are installed.
Root resistance
All Triflex roofing systems are certified under the German FLL guidelines which have been the only source of reliable information for designers of green roofs for the last 15 years. |
